A snowstorm is coming to the beach this Saturday as Spyder Surfboards hosts the Second Annual Spyder Snowfest from Noon – 8 PM. The Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce is a proud sponsor of the event. 60 tons of snow will fall on Pier Avenue, creating “Mount Hermosa” which will span approximately 120 feet up Pier Avenue down to Hermosa Avenue.
Spyder Snowfest will give spectators the opportunity to watch some world class pro and amateur snowboarders put on a display in a trick contest from 1 – 4:30 pm.
Celebrity judges will include two time snowboarder of the year, John Jackson along with snowboarding legend, Mark Frank Montoya. Snowboarding TV personality “The Dingo” will be the emcee for the event.
Kids ages 15 and under will also have the opportunity to take to the snow during an open sledding session from 5-8pm. Younger groms will also have their time in the snow as a child’s snow area will also be open from 1-6 pm at Pier Plaza near the Hermosa Beach Holiday Tree
Admission is free and the event is open to the public.
