Hermosa Beach won the challenge in 2011, but finished second behind Laguna Beach last year.

Takes about 45 seconds to fill out and has some great tips about saving water - and you could win some great prizes, like a Toyota Prius.

Please take a moment before April 30th to help with this awareness campaign, and share with your friends. Thanks!

Her winning design was selected from nearly 40 entries and will be used on Fiesta Hermosa event banners, and other collateral materials. She also received a free year’s membership in the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce.

Priscila is originally from Brazil and has lived in Hermosa Beach for the past years. Her design background includes working in many industries from music, to fashion, to toys.

According to Priscila, her Fiesta Hermosa logo was not her first winning contest entry. As a seven year old in Brazil, she won a children's contest and her drawing became a stamp for the Brazilian Post Office, which she credits as an early inspiration for her artistic creativity.

Priscila was excited about winning the contest. “Hermosa Beach is just perfect! I love the awesome beach, surf, volleyball and I think it’s just the cutest place in California! It's really an honor for me to contribute to my city and have my logo selected for Fiesta Hermosa.”

For more information on Priscila, please visit her website at: www.barbierock.com

Additional efforts to highlight participation from local artists and businesses include:

To encourage participation from local artists, local Hermosa Beach based artists will receive a 50% discount in their entry into this year’s event.

Fiesta Hermosa will also feature live music on two stages and will consist of more performances from local bands to put more of a spotlight on the local music scene. A music schedule is now available on the Fiesta Hermosa section of the Chamber’s website: www.HBChamber.net

Local chamber member restaurants will receive priority placement for participation in this year’s Fiesta Hermosa Food Court.

The Chamber once again selected 10 Hermosa Beach based charitable organizations who will receive valuable funding through their participation in serving at the Fiesta’s Charity Beer & Wine Garden. Last year, over $30,000 was raised to benefit local charities.

Local residents will also receive a discount on Fiesta Hermosa carnival ride tickets. Tickets are available in a block of 24 tickets for $15, a 25% discount from the regular price. Tickets are available now through May 17th at the Hermosa Beach Chamber of Commerce office at 1007 Hermosa Avenue. (must show proof of Hermosa Beach residency) Office hours are Monday through Friday from 9 am – 5 pm.
